Hobart’s home finale to be televised

The Hobart lacrosse team will play its final home game of the 2011 season at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 when the Bellarmine Knights make their first visit to Boswell Field at the Caird Center for Sports and Recreation. The ECAC Lacrosse League showdown will be televised live on six regional sports networks spanning the northeast, as well as in Kentucky and Missouri, in addition to any satellite and cable providers that carry Fox College Sports.

The game will be shown on Fox College Sports (DirecTV channel 617), Cox Sports 3 (Conn./R.I.), Time Warner Cable Metro Sports (Kansas City, Mo.), Wazoo Sports Network (Ky./Ind.), The Sports Network (New York) and Time Warner Sports Net (New York). Check your local listings for available channels.

Hobart (4-6, 1-2) began the week third in the nation in faceoff winning percentage (.643) and 16th in saves per game (11.5). Junior midfielder Bobby Dattilo has taken 99 percent of the Statesmen's restarts, winning 63.9 percent of the time (7th in the nation). He has also scooped up a team-high 68 ground balls and ranks sixth in the nation in ground balls per game (6.8). Senior goalie Evan Kirk is 20th in the nation in saves per game, averaging 10.6. Junior attackman Sam Miller has recorded at least one point in 20 consecutive games and leads the Statesmen with 21 goals and 23 points.

Bellarmine (4-8, 0-3) is among the national leaders in saves per game (2nd, 13.83), grounds balls per game (34.67), shooting percentage (13th, .308), and scoring offense (17th, 10.58). Sophomore goalie Dillon Ward is eighth in the nation in saves (11.55) and 12th in save percentage (.570). First-year midfielder Cameron Gardner, junior attackman Austin Bright, and junior midfielder Karsen Leung share the team lead with 20 points apiece.
