Four members of the Hobart College ice hockey team were honored by the Statesmen Athletic Association and the Hobart College Athletics Department at the annual Block H Awards dinner on April 22. Senior goalie

Frank Salituro received the Holden Award, while the D. Michael Hazelton '85 Memorial Award was given to sophomore defenseman
Ryan Michel. The Rookie Award for Hockey was presented to first-year forward
Mac Olson.
Broadwater became just the third Hobart hockey player to earn first team All-American honors. He finished his senior season with a Hobart record 1.66 goals against average. Broadwater ranks second on the Statesmen single season list with a .939 save percentage. He notched shutouts of Salve Regina, Manhattanville, Nazareth, and Curry this winter to set another Hobart single season record. Broadwater tallied 15 wins in goal, which ranks second in Statesmen history. He turned aside 30 or more shots in six different games this season, including a season-high 40 against then No. 2 Oswego. Broadwater finished the year ranked first in the ECAC West and third in the country in goals against average and second in the both the conference and the nation in save percentage. His four shutouts put him tied for fourth in Division III. Broadwater was tabbed the ECAC West Goalie of the Week four times in his senior season.
A three-time All-ECAC West selection and the 2009-10 Rookie of the Year, Broadwater played in 82 games in his Hobart career. He ranks first on the Hobart career list for shutouts (11) and goals against average (2.25) and second in wins (45), saves (2,275) and save percentage (.927). Broadwater, who earned All-East Region first team honors and All-USCHO.com third team recognition this year, logged a 45-26-7 career record in goal. He was tabbed an All-American by both the AHCA and by D3hockey.com.
A co-captain and AHCA All-American, Salituro played in all 26 games this season. He ranked first on the team with 31 points, 14 goals and 17 assists. Salituro finished his senior year tied for first in the nation and tied for fourth on the Hobart single season list with nine power-play goals. The All-ECAC West first team selection ranked second in the league in points and goals and tied for second in power-play points (14). He also tied for fourth in assists. Salituro chipped in the game-winning goals against Cortland and Nazareth. A consistent contributor, he logged at least a point in 20 games this winter and tallied four three-point performances.
Salituro played in 89 career games. He recorded 36 goals and 38 assists for 74 points. Salituro tallied seven career game-winning goals. He is tied for sixth in Hobart history with 18 career power-play goals. Salituro garnered All-ECAC West honorable mention and was named to the ECAC West All-USCHO.com second team in 2011-12. He earned a spot on the ECAC West All-Academic Team three years in a row.
Michel played in 20 games this winter and earned a spot on the ECAC West All-Conference second team. He was the only underclassman defenseman to earn a spot on the D3hockey.com All-East Region teams. Michel ranked second on the team with 16 assists and added three goals. He tallied three assists in a 5-1 win over Geneseo and produced a goal and two assists in a 7-3 rout of Nazareth. Michel finished the season ranked sixth in the nation in points per game by a defenseman (0.95) and tied for 17th in the country in assists per game (0.80). He ranked fourth in the ECAC West defenseman scoring, tied for eighth in power-play points (10), tied for ninth in assists and tied for 10th in shorthanded points. Michel played a crucial role in the Hobart defensive unit that finished the year ranked fifth in the nation, allowing just 1.85 goals per game and ranked eighth on the penalty kill (86.4%).
Michel has played in 46 career games and has posted six goals and 27 assists for 33 points.
Olson was named the ECAC West Rookie of the Year and garnered a spot on the conference's all-rookie team.
He ranked second on the team with 22 points on eight goals and 14 assists. Olson recorded a season-high four points on two goals and two assists in a season-opening victory over Salve Regina. He tallied three assists in a 7-3 win over Nazareth. Olson notched the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win over Potsdam and sent home the game-winner in overtime for a 4-3 victory at Utica. He finished the season tied for second in the ECAC West in first-year scoring. Olson also tied for 13th in the conference in points, tied for 14th in assists and tied for 10th in game-winning goals. He was selected the ECAC West Rookie of the Week twice this season.
The Statesmen finished the season with a 19-5-2 overall record and an 11-3-1 mark in the ECAC west. Hobart earned a share of the conference regular season title. Only two teams in the history of Statesmen hockey have earned more victories than this year's team.
