Four members of the Hobart College tennis team were honored by the Statesmen Athletic Association and the Hobart Athletics Department at the annual Block H Dinner on April 27. Senior
Michael Fields was presented with the Myron V. Jacobs '37 Award for excellence as a tennis player and a citizen in the college community.

Luke DeLuccia received the William A. Walley '61 Tennis Award for sportsmanship, team work, individual play and leadership. Sophomore
Danny Kot earned the Most Improved Player Award while first-year
Harry Nichols was presented with the Rookie Award for Tennis.

A co-captain, Fields posted a 10-13 overall record in singles play, including a 7-7 mark at No. 2 singles. He also posted a 1-1 record at No. 1 singles. Fields was named All-Liberty League second team singles and doubles with his partner
Matt DePrima. The duo posted a team-best 11-11 overall record in doubles play, including a 7-9 mark at No. 1.

A four-year member of the tennis team, Fields led the Statesmen to a 45-39 overall record. He posted a 50-34 record in singles play. Fields was a two-time recipient of the William A. Walley '61 Tennis Award.

Also a co-captain, DeLuccia posted a 2-3 mark during his senior season, including a 2-0 record at No. 6 singles. In doubles play, he posted a 7-11 record. With Kot, DeLuccia went 5-8 and with Nichols, he logged a 2-3 record. For his career, DeLuccia was 5-8 in singles play and 16-30 in doubles.

Kot notched a 7-6 record in singles play this season, including a 5-4 mark in dual matches, playing in the bottom half of the lineup. He notched a 13-15 doubles record. When paired with sophomore
Michael Rusk, Kot was 5-2, including a 2-0 mark at No. 1 doubles.

Nichols was tied for second on the team in singles wins, posting a 13-12 mark in his inaugural campaign. He led the team in doubles victories, recording a 14-13 mark.

Hobart was 10-9 overall this season. The Statesmen went 4-3 in Liberty League play, finishing fourth in the conference standings.
