The William Smith College soccer team is one of 16 hosts for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship. The Herons will take on Worcester State at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. That contest will be followed by Trinity (Conn.) and WPI at 1:30 p.m.

The winning teams will meet on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. Tickets are $6 for general admission, $3 for senior citizens, military personnel and students (ages 13-College), children ages 3-12 are $2. Children under 3-years-old are admitted free.

The Herons are ranked No. 1 in both the NSCAA and D3soccer.com polls. William Smith earned its 10th straight Liberty League Tournament Championship, and has an 18-0-0 overall record. The Herons are making their 27th NCAA tournament appearance (48-19-9 all time in tournament play), and are seeking their third national championship (1988, 2013). William Smith enters the tournament riding a 12-match shutout streak and is 10-0-0 on Cozzens Field this year.

Worcester State brings a 9-6-2 overall record to Geneva. The Lancers won the MASCAC Championship, defeating Bridgewater State 2-1, and earned an automatic bid to the tournament. It's the seventh time Worcester State has earned its conference tournament title and the first time since 2014. The Lancers are 3-4-2 on the road this year. Worcester State is making its seventh NCAA tournament appearance (3-5-1 all-time in tournament play).

William Smith and Worcester State have met one other time. The Lancers topped the Herons 2-0 on Cozzens Field on Nov. 10, 2007, in an NCAA tournament first round game.

Trinity is 11-4-3 overall. The Bantams earned an at-large bid to the tournament after falling to Amherst 2-1 in the NESCAC championship game. It's Trinity's second appearance in the NCAA tournament. The Bantams first trip to the tournament was in 2013, when they advanced to the second round. Trinity is 3-2-2 on the road this year and 0-1-0 in neutral site games.

WPI won the NEWMAC Championship for the first time in program history and earned an automatic bid for their first ever NCAA tournament appearance. The Engineers are 16-2-2 overall and topped MIT 3-1 in their tournament championship game. The Engineers are 6-1-2 on the road this year.
