Team of Distinction: 1954 Hobart Football

The 1954 Hobart football team was among the first four teams to be honored as a Team of Distinction. Along with the 1957 football team and the 1938 and 1940 lacrosse teams, the 1954 football team was recognized as a Team of Distinction on Nov. 3, 2006.
The 1954 football team was the only undefeated football team in the state of New York. The Echo of the Seneca stated that the 1954 team “will be looked upon in future years as one of the finest ever to display the Purple and Orange.” The 1954 team finished the season 8-0 with an average margin of victory of 25.5 points.
