Hobart and William Smith Colleges Athletics

The 1940 Hobart lacrosse team was among the first four teams to be honored as a Team of Distinction. Along with the 1938 lacrosse team and 1954 and 1957 football teams, the 1940 lacrosse team was recognized as a Team of Distinction on Nov. 3, 2006.

The 1940 lacrosse team posted the Hobart lacrosse program’s second undefeated season. Over the course of the season the team compiled a 5-0 record and dominated opponents with an average margin of victory of 10.4 goals. With the undefeated season Coach “Babe” Kraus posted his second unblemished record in three seasons.
