The 1977 Hobart lacrosse team was honored as a Team of Distinction on April 26, 2008 along with the 1976 Hobart lacrosse team. Both teams won NCAA Division II National Championships.
The 1977 Hobart lacrosse team rattled off an unblemished 15-0 record, just the third undefeated season in program history. It was Hobart's fourth consecutive trip to the Division II title game. In the championship game, Hobart earned a 23-13 victory over Washington College. Roy McAdam '80 led the Statesmen in scoring during the NCAA tournament, scoring a then record 21 points in three games. That mark stood until 2018.
Overall, Hobart scored a season record 350 goals. Terry Corcoran '78 was the Statesmen's leading point producer with 108, becoming just the second Statesman to record 100 points in a season. Corcoran (61) and John Hayes (60) became the first Hobart teammates to score 60 or more goals in the same season.
