Bonnie Tourison Sweeney’80 was a tri-captain on the 1979 State Championship field hockey team. She won several awards during her playing career including the Stephanie Christie Award, the Winn-Seeley Award, and the Marion Harrison Green Award. She served as a student trustee and a graduate trustee. A driving force behind the formation of the Heron Society, Sweeney served as the first president from 1983 through 1986 and continueing as membership chairperson from 1986 through 1995. She received the Heron Society Award in 1986 and four years later was honored with the Outstanding Young Alumnae Award. Sweeney is also active in youth soccer, serving as a Harvard Athletic Association soccer coach (U-6 coed, U-8 coed, U-12 boys).
