  • One of the founding officers of the Heron Society in 1983 and has been an instrumental part of the Heron Society from the beginning up until present time.
  • Vice president of the Heron Society 1987-91.
  • President of the Heron Society 1974-present.
  • William Smith Admissions representative.
  • Became the first William Smith swimmer to compete at the 1967-68 New York State swimming championships. She competed by herself against 12 other colleges and approximately 200 women swimmers and earned enough points by herself to single-handedly carry William Smith into eighth place. Won a silver medal in the 50 freestyle and won the bronze in the 100 freestyle. Also, placed fifth in the 100 individual medley.
  • Chosen Most Outstanding Freshman by the William Smith Athletic Association
  • In 1968-69 season, was a double winner in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyles at the state championships, as she led William Smith to a fourth place finish. She also placed third in the 100 individual medley and was part of a second place relay team.
  • Captain of the swim team and active member of the Athletic Association Board.
  • Also at William Smith, she was the vice president of her class, elected to Who's Who in 1969-70, inducted into the Hai Timai Honor Society, a winner of the Barbara Ether Memorial Award in 1970, and a chairperson on the Big Sister Committee.
  • In 1986, competed in first Master's World Swimming Championships in Japan, she won gold medals in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Won silver in the 50 breaststroke and the 200 IM.
  • 1986 appeared in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" section for her accomplishment.
  • Competed in three more Master's World Swimming Championships since then (1988-Brisbane, Australia; 1992-Indianapolis, Ind.; 1994-Montreal, Canada).
