Davis was a three-time letterman in both football and lacrosse. As a senior, he put together one of the best seasons by a Hobart running back. On Nov. 5, 1977, Davis set a single game record with 321 rushing yards against Brockport. He finished the season with 1,074 yards on the ground and 14 touchdowns, while catching nine passes for 136 yards and another TD. Davis’ 90 points are the third highest season total for a Statesman, while his 14 rushing TDs rank fourth on that list. His efforts did not go unrecognized as he earned AP Little All-America honorable mention.

On the lacrosse field, Davis was a midfielder and key contributor on Hobart’s back-to-back NCAA Division II National Championship teams in 1976 and 1977 and served as a team captain in 1978, when the Statesmen played in a third consecutive title game. He was named the 1978 Babe Kraus Memorial Award winner.

A member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, Davis served as a residential adviser during his undergraduate career.

Davis graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He earned a master’s degree in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
