Called the “most complete player I’ve ever coached,” by Hall of Honor Coach Pat Genovese (Class of 1999), Jennifer Bertsch Dolce was a dominating midfielder and a key contributor to the most successful four years in William Smith lacrosse history.

A three-time All-American in lacrosse, Bertsch Dolce ranks among the College’s all-time leaders in goals, assists, and points. In 67 career games, she compiled 171 goals and 76 assists for 247 points, helping the Herons to a spectacular 62-5 record (.925). When she graduated, Bertsch Dolce ranked second in career points and assists and third in goals. She still ranks fourth all-time in assists and points and is fifth in goals.

After earning third team All-America honors as a sophomore, Bertsch Dolce erupted for 61 goals, 29 assists, and 103 ground balls as a junior on her way to first team All-America praise. One of the most prolific scoring seasons in Heron history, her 1994 numbers put her second on the single season goals list, third on the points list, and fifth in assists. She also earned the first of two straight spots on the NCAA All-Tournament Team that year. The William Smith lacrosse team advanced to the NCAA Championship game in each of her four seasons.

Bertsch Dolce logged a career-high nine points on three occasions: victimizing Franklin & Marshall in 1994, Millersville in 1994, and St. Lawrence in 1994. She tied an NCAA Tournament record with seven goals against the Diplomats.

Bertsch Dolce also played two seasons of field hockey, earning a national championship with the 1992 squad that posted a 22-1 record.
