A pre-dental student majoring in biology, Scott Geise earned four letters in varsity football and three in lacrosse and is among the most accomplished receivers in Statesmen football history. Geise graduated with numerous Hobart receiving records including yards in a game (201), a season (1,029), and for a career (1,879). He also set the single season record for yards per reception (19.4), career yards per reception (18.4), touchdown receptions in a season (9), and touchdown receptions for a career (14).
As a senior, Geise was named MVP in football and received the Babe Kraus Memorial Award as Hobart’s Athlete-of-the-Year. He was named second team All-American as a wide receiver and earned a spot on the Division III All-East Team. Geise was a standout defenseman for the Statesmen and played on three NCAA Championship lacrosse teams.
After completing his undergraduate education at Hobart, Geise continued his academic work at the SUNY-Buffalo School of Dentistry where he earned a D.D.S. degree in 1988. After receiving his dentistry degree, Geise entered the U.S. Army for a four-year tour during which he rose to the rank of captain. Scott’s military service included a tour of duty in the Persian Gulf War, during which he served as field dentist for the 3rd Infantry Division.
Upon leaving the Army, Scott settled in his hometown of Newfane as a partner in the Newfane Family Dentistry practice. He has owned this dental practice since 2000.
