Hager produced a game-high and Hobart postseason record 20 tackles in a 42-7 loss at top-ranked Mount Union on Saturday. He also became the first Statesman to record 20-plus tackles in a game more than once (he holds the game record of 21 set earlier this year at Carnegie Mellon). Hager finished the season with 134 tackles, eclipsing the record of 129 that Jesse Truley ’96 set 13 seasons ago. The Hager-led Hobart defense limited Mount Union to just 14 points in the first half (a season-low for the Purple Raiders) and held them scoreless in the second quarter (the first time they’ve been blanked in any of the first three quarters of a game this season).
