Ocasio advanced to the semifinals of the third singles draw and the quarterfinals of the second doubles draw at the New York State Championships. In singles play, she defeated opponents from Nazareth and Hartwick in straight sets, before dropping a heart-breaking 6-7 (4-7), 6-1, 11-9 decision in the penultimate round. In doubles play, she teamed up with Joanie Hilton for an 8-1 win in the first round before bowing out in the quarterfinals.
