Regan led a stout Statesmen defense in a pair of victories this week and in the process broke the Hobart career record for caused turnovers. On Tuesday, he limited 2012 Tewaaraton Award winner Peter Baum to just two goals while recording three ground balls and a caused turnover. The latter tied the Hobart career record of 43 set by Alex Caton ’11. Regan also scored the first Statesmen goal of the day as Hobart defeated 16th-ranked Colgate 9-8 in overtime. It was Hobart’s first win over a ranked team since 2009 and the Statesmen’s first overtime win since 2004. On Saturday, Regan took sole possession of the record with a pair of caused turnovers and a ground ball in an 11-7 ECAC win over Michigan. The four-year starter is tied for the team lead with seven caused turnovers and is sixth on the team with nine ground balls.
