Steketee moved from the bow seat to the stroke seat for the varsity eight's race against a pair of nationally ranked crews on Saturday. She led the Herons, No. 2 in the latest coaches poll, to an impressive open-water victory over No. 10 Ithaca and No. 7 Marietta. Steketee led William Smith across the finish line in 7:21.9, well ahead of the Bombers (7:33.4) and Pioneers (7:45.0).
