Taylor was the stroke for the novice eight that won a gold medal at the New York State Collegiate Rowing Championships on Lake Whitney. The Herons won their Saturday heat by more than 17 seconds over runner-up Rensselaer on Saturday to book a spot in Sunday's grand final. The following morning, Taylor and her crew won the most exciting race of the championship. William Smith's N8 was trailing by a few seats late in the 2,000-meter race, but used an impressive sprint to push across the finish line in 7:24.9, 0.48 seconds faster than second place Ithaca and 0.66 seconds ahead of third place RIT.
