At the par 71 Blue Heron Hills Golf Club in Macedon, N.Y., Sass shot an opening round 77 as Hobart finished the first day of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship in fourth place. In the second round, he shaved three strokes off his score to match his career low 18-hole score and finish the tournament with a two-day total of 151, tied for 12th place. Sass carded his best 36-hole tournament of his career, improving his total in the two-day 2012 Nazareth Invitational by two strokes. His improvement helped Hobart move up to third place in the final team standings.
