An NSCAA first team All-American, Zitoli was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the NCAA Championship after the Heron defense shutout Capital and Trinity (Texas) universities to win the program's second National Championship. Zitoli and the rest of the William Smith defense were imprenetrable over the past three months. The Herons rang up 16 consecutive shutouts, for a school record shutout streak of 1,455:07 (24 hours, 15 minutes, 7 seconds). William Smith allowed just six goals all season and none since Sept. 28, 2013.
