Biesemeyer stroked the varsity eight to a gold medal at the Knecht Cup over the weekend. Along with Sam Zuckerman, Robert McNamara, August Wherry, Brett Lawhon, Davis Muller, Patrick Ware, Milos Milosavljevic, and W. Hunter Holtz, the Statesmen won their opening heat and semifinal by a combined margin of 15.46 seconds. In the grand final, Hobart lined up against No. 19 Drexel, regional rival Ithaca, Bucknell, Delaware, and the Delaware lightweights. The race for the gold medal came down to the Statesmen and the nationally ranked Dragons with Biesemeyer and his teammates pulling away for a 4.7-second victory.
