Sinead Reilly played a key role in the William Smith varsity eight which, for the third season in a row stood atop the medial stand at the New York State Championships. On Saturday, Emily Davidowitz, Katie Paige, Caroline DeWeirdt, Lauren Blake-Whitney, Reilly, Aly Clark, Emma Dow, Alyssa Trebilcock, and Libby Hughes won their opening heat by 3.05 seconds over Division I Marist with league rivals Union and St. John Fisher well off the pace. In Sunday's grand final, the fifth-ranked Herons posted a winning time of 7:14.65, 3.34 seconds faster than No. 7 Ithaca, 5.33 seconds ahead of the Red Foxes, and 5.68 seconds better than No. 13 Rochester.
