The stroke for the Hobart varsity eight, Biesemeyer is this week's Hobart Athlete of the Week on behalf of his silver medal winning crew. At the 50th annual Head of the Charles, Biesemeyer and Julia Dexter, Robert McNamara, August Wherry, Austin Letorney, Matthew Sylvan, W. Hunter Holtz, Davis Muller, and Owen Monahan became just the third Hobart crew to medal. In a field of 44 entries, Hobart covered the 4,800 meter course in 15:22.78. Only Michigan turned in a faster time, at 15:14.73. Grand Valley State finished almost two seconds behind the Statesmen in third place. This marks the ninth consecutive year Hobart has placed in the top 10 in the collegiate eight division at the world's largest two-day regatta.
