Sweeney was 20-of-28 passing for 226 yards and a touchdown in his Hobart debut, leading the Statesmen to a 29-7 season-opening win at Dickinson. He completed the first five passes he attempted, including a 44-yard bomb to Brandon Shed on the first play from scrimmage. Sweeney also rushed for a 1-yard touchdown.
