The stroke for the Hobart varsity eight, Wherry is this week's Hobart Athlete of the Week on behalf of his gold medal winning crew. At the Head of the Charles, Wherry and Sam Zuckerman, Davis Muller, John Hibbard, Julien Green, Brett Lawhon, D. Griffin Marsh, Axel Witt, and Matthew Sylvan became just the second Hobart crew to win a gold medal. In a field of 41 entries, Hobart covered the 4,800 meter course in 15:32.704. The University of Delaware and Williams College rounded out the podium. This marks the 10th consecutive year Hobart has placed in the top 10 in the collegiate eight division at the world's largest two-day regatta and the fourth time they have reached the podium.
