Serving as skipper, Hobbs guided the Hobart and William Smith Colleges sailing team to a third place finish at the America Trophy, the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association Coed Dinghy Championships. Sailing in A Division with juniors Lindsey Kloc, and Chris Manson-Hing, and sophomore Kyle Easton, he finished first with 108 points. Hobbs and his crews won four times and finished in the top-10 in 15 of the 18 races. Trailing headed into the 18th race, Hobbs finished first to overtake two sailors and win A Division. Following the regatta, Hobbs was named first team All-MAISA Skippers.
