Martinez led William Smith with two goals and four points over the weekend. On Friday, she scored the game winning goal 1:47 into the second overtime as the Herons knocked off Hardin-Simmons. She redirected a crossing pass into the back of the net. It was the first game-winning goal of her career. The next day, Martinez scored in the 69th minute to give William Smith a 2-0 lead over the Mary Hardin-Baylor. Martinez had just one goal last year. On the defensive end of the field she played a key role as William Smith posted a pair of shutouts and limited the Cowgirls and Crusaders to nine shots.
