Quartaro returns to Hobart with more than 35 years of coaching experience. The Geneva native will serve as the running backs coach in 2021.

A member of the Geneva Sports Hall of Fame, Quartaro has served as a head football coach at Drake and Fordham universities and at New Hampton (Iowa) High School. He was the special teams coordinator on Dennis Green’s staff at Northwestern, an associate head coach under Bill Snyder at Kansas State, assistant head coach for Dan McCarney at Iowa State, associate head coach for Mark Mangino at Kansas and assistant head coach at North Texas. Most recently, Quartaro was the director of player development at Rutgers.
 
Quartaro is returning to Hobart, having previously served as an assistant coach for the football and baseball teams as well as serving as the Colleges’ first full-time sports information director early in his professional career.
 
A graduate of the University of Iowa, Quartaro was a three-year letterman for the Hawkeyes, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors as a junior. The placekicker was Iowa’s leading scorer during his junior and senior seasons. Quartaro twice broke the school record for longest field goal, booting a 47-yarder during his sophomore season and eclipsing that mark a year later with a 50-yard field goal. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
