Brian DeDominici

Brian DeDominici joined the rowing staff as the Statesmen’s assistant coach and the HWS rigger prior to the 2008-09 season.

DeDominici came to Geneva from Bellingham, Mass., and brought with him 11 years of rowing and coaching experience.

In the spring of 2008, DeDominici served as an assistant coach of the Clark University women’s rowing team, where he was involved in every aspect of coaching the novice crews. In addition to that, he was the Wayland-Weston Rowing Association’s (WWRA) novice girl’s coach. While there, DeDominici led his squad to medal in every race it entered from Sept. 2007 to May 2008. He also served as the program coordinator for every team at the WWRA (boys, girls, varsity, novice), produced a team handbook, and was a member of the WWIR regatta committee.

Prior to coaching at Clark and the WWRA, DeDominici served as a full-time assistant at Savannah College of Art and Design, his alma mater. For five years, he developed and trained the novice crews, coached the varsity fours and pairs, organized all race, travel and recruiting information, and coordinated fundraising, student-athlete physicals, and novice try-outs. DeDominici coached the SCAD women’s novice eight to a first-place finish at the 2005 SIRA Championships. He also guided the men’s pair to a third-place finish in the same regatta, and saw them medal in every race that year.

DeDominici has additional experience as an assistant coach for the TBFit.com High School Crew Winter Training Program, where he was involved in erg and strength and conditioning coaching.

Through the years, DeDominici has gained extensive knowledge in rowing equipment, rigging and rigging adjustment, and hull repair. He holds a level three USRowing certification.

In 2001, DeDominici earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in sequential art from SCAD. A four-year member of the Bees’ rowing team, he helped power the varsity eight to a first-place finish in the 1999 John Hunter Regatta, and recorded another win at the 2001 regatta, this time as a coxswain for the varsity four.
