Kory David joined the Hobart coaching staff to serve as defensive coordinator prior to the start of the 2015 season. A native of Massena, N.Y., he brought 15 years of coaching experience to the Statesmen, including two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.
In his first season at Hobart, David directed a swarming defense that ranked among the best in the nation in passing yards allowed (2nd, 129.5/g), total defense (6th, 246.0 yds/g), third down conversion percentage defense (9th, .271), and first down defense (9th, 141). Six Statesmen on the defensive side of the ball earned All-Liberty League recognition last year.

David came to Hobart from Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pa., where he served as the Aggies' defensive coordinator and secondary coach. In 2014, Delaware Valley posted a 9-2 record, finished second in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), and earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Championship. The Aggies, who were ranked 25th in the nation in the final D3football.com poll, ranked 23rd in the country in sacks per game (2.91).

In 2013, David served in the same role at King's College, helping the Monarchs to a 6-4 overall record, tying for third place in the MAC.

David was a member of Andy Reid's Eagles' coaching staff from March 2011 to January 2013, assisting with the linebackers and special teams. His responsibilities included scripting and offensive tendencies of opponents, breaking down opponent's video for the defense and helping prepare and organize practice plans.

Before coaching in the NFL, David spent three seasons as the linebackers coach at Dickinson College and eight seasons on the football staff at SUNY Cortland. He helped the Red Devils to a 17-13 mark in Carlisle, Pa., while also serving as the special teams coordinator and the strength and conditioning coordinator.

With the Red Dragons, David served in a variety of roles, coaching the linebackers and secondary, serving as the junior varsity defensive coordinator and later the head coach of the JV team and finished his tenure in Cortland as the co-defensive coordinator. Cortland was 52-30 during his time on staff, winning a share of three New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships, making four ECAC Bowl Appearances, and a 2005 NCAA playoff berth.

David's coaching career followed a very successful playing career at Cortland. He recorded 259 tackles during his four-year career, twice earning
Football Gazette All-East honors and leading the Red Dragons to the NCAA playoffs in 1997. The linebacker was twice elected captain. He graduated from Cortland in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in physical education.
David’s wife, Katie, is the executive assistant to the executive vice president for football operations of the Philadelphia Eagles.
