POTSDAM, N.Y. -- At Hantz Field, the William Smith College soccer team earned its sixth consecutive shutout victory with a 4-0 decision at Clarkson University. The Herons won their 12th consecutive game, and improved to 13-2-0, 6-0-0 in the UCAA.
Sophomore Leah Cornwell (Wheatland-Chili/Scottsville, N.Y.) and senior Leslie Khachadourian (Guilderland/Albany, N.Y.) combined to shut out the Golden Knights, who had won six of their last seven games. William Smith has not allowed a goal since Sept. 25 against Ithaca, a span of 600 minutes, 24 seconds.
Seniors Tatiana Korba (Wooster/Wooster, Ohio) and Antoinette DeLucia (Shenendehowa/Mechanicville, N.Y.) both finished with one goal and one assist. Senior Cheryl Wallace (G. Ray Bodley/Fulton, N.Y.) netted one goal, and sophomore Elizabeth Dedrick (Horseheads/Erin, N.Y.) tallied her first career goal on an assist from junior Brianna Tindall (Poultney/Castleton, Vt.).
William Smith, ranked No. 6 in the nation, hosts SUNY-Cortland on Sat., Oct. 23 at 1 p.m.
