Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. -- In the inaugural Rochester Hockey Cup, the Hobart College ice hockey team lost its season opener to RIT this evening 3-0. Playing in their fourth game of the season, the Tigers got one goal in each period to secure their third win.
In the cage, junior Chris Connolly (Pingree/Melrose, Mass.) made 54 saves for the Statesmen, who were outshot 57-20. RIT was 1-for-6 on the power play, while Hobart was 0-for-3.
The Statesmen will return to action on Sat., Oct. 30, at RIT at 4 p.m. Hobart will face the loser of tonight's Geneseo/Brockport game in the consolation finals.
