Brown's OT goal sends Statesmen past Lakers

GENEVA, N.Y. -- At Alumni Field, junior Hunter Brown (Brooks School/Pittsburgh, Pa.) tallied the game-winning goal to lead the Hobart College soccer team to a 1-0 overtime victory over visiting Oswego State University on Saturday afternoon. The Statesmen improved to 9-7-0 overall, 6-1-0 at home, while the Lakers (9-8-1) suffered their fifth consecutive loss.

Brown deposited a pass from first-year Bryan Bome (Marcellus/Syracuse, N.Y.) to score his team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 95th minute. Hobart outshot the Lakers 18-7.

First-year goalkeeper Cory Rosier (Liverpool/Liverpool, N.Y.) recorded two saves for the Statesmen, while senior Neil Segerdahl (Garden City/Garden City, N.Y.) made six saves for Oswego State.

The Statesmen conclude their regular season on Tues., Nov. 2, when they host the University of Rochester at 3 p.m.
