Livingston leads Herons to 3rd straight

GENEVA, N.Y. -- Sophomore Nicole Livingston (Whitney Point/Whitney Point, N.Y.) scored two goals and classmate Marjorie MacVean (Johnstown High/Johnstown, N.Y.) notched her sixth shutout of the season to lead the William Smith College field hockey team to a 2-0 victory over Hamilton College. The Herons (10-3, 5-1 UCAA) have won three straight and five of their last six, while the Continentals fall to 3-7, 2-4.

Livingston scored on a penalty stroke ten minutes into the game to put William Smith on the board. Senior Ami Ford (Whitney Point/Whitney Point, N.Y.) assisted on Livingston's 10th goal of the season with just over 18 minutes remaining in the contest.

MacVean made two saves, while sophomore Lorena Gonzalez (Greenwich, Conn.) recorded 27 stops for Hamilton.

William Smith, ranked No. 14 in the nation, hosts Cortland on Wed., Oct. 13 at 3:30 p.m.
