UTICA, N.Y. -- Senior Rich Azulay (Thayer/Kingston, Mass.) and sophomore Jesse Martin (Cicero-North Syracuse/Liverpool, N.Y.) scored one goal apiece, and the Hobart College men's soccer team won its fourth straight, a 2-1 decision at Utica College.
The Statesmen, tied for sixth in the NSCAA Northeast Region with Oswego State, took a 1-0 lead just eight minutes into the contest on Azulay's second goal of the season. Martin headed in his first goal of 1999 off a Jeffrey Harpham (Kent School/Farmington, Conn.) corner kick in the 57th minute to increase Hobart's lead to 2-0. In his first start of the year, sophomore goalkeeper Doug Limbach (Coxsack Athens/Athens, N.Y.) recorded four saves.
Utica, outshot by the Statesmen 25-5, scored with just under 22 minutes remaining in the contest to close out the afternoon's scoring. Hobart returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 25, when it takes on Nazareth College at 2 p.m.
