ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Senior Tatiana Korba (Wooster/Wooster, Ohio) posted a pair of goals, while classmate Antionette DeLucia (Shenedehowa/Mechanicsville, N.Y.) added a goal and an assist to lead the William Smith College soccer team to a 4-0 victory.
Korba scored on a direct kick in the 33rd minute to commence the afternoon's scoring. She scored her second goal of the game minutes later to give the Herons a 2-0 advantage. First-year player Kristin Perrigo (Liverpool/Liverpool, N.Y.) netted a DeLucia pass in the 65th minute, and DeLucia added an unassisted goal to close out the scoring.
Sophomore Leah Cornwell (Wheatland-Chili/Scottsville, N.Y.) and senior Leslie Khachadourian (Guilderland/Albany, N.Y.) combined for the shutout.
The Herons, No. 4 in the latest New York/Northeast NSCAA poll, host Ithaca on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. The Bombers are ranked No. 1 in this week's NY/Northeast poll.
