Box Score GENEVA, N.Y. -- At Bristol Gym, senior Tricia Lockwood (Homer/Truxton, N.Y.) scored a game-high 15 points and the William Smith College basketball team (7-2) extended the nation's longest home court winning streak to 74 games with a 77-36 victory over Keuka College (0-9). The Herons have now won 35 straight home contests against non-conference opponents.
William Smith forced 29 Warrior turnovers in racing out to a 42-13 halftime advantage. For the game, the Herons collected 26 steals and held Keuka to 34.8% shooting from the field.
Lockwood converted on six of her eight field goal attempts, including 2-for-2 from three-point land, and grabbed seven rebounds. Senior Liz Masten (Williamsport/Williamsport, Pa.) scored 12 points and seized a career-high eight steals, while junior Mollie Masten (Williamsport/Williamsport, Pa.) contributed 10 points and three assists. Senior Liz Brown (Marcus Whitman/Rushville, N.Y.) had five points and six steals, and moved into fourth place on the William Smith career assists list (299) with a team-high five on the night. Sophomore Leah Cornwell (Wheatland-Chili/Scottsville, N.Y.) ripped down seven rebounds, and junior Brianna Tindall (Pultney/Castleton, Vt.) added five steals.
For Keuka, first-year Kim Tarolli (Solvay, N.Y.) scored a team-high 14 points and sophomore Jennifer McElwain (Randolph, N.Y.) pulled down a game-high 10 boards.
The Herons return to action on Sat., Jan. 8, when they host Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at 2 p.m.
