Box Score GENEVA, N.Y. -- Juniors Jerry Toomey (Woburn, Mass.) and Matt Pane (St. James, N.Y.) scored consecutive goals late in the third period to give the Hobart College hockey team a 5-5 tie against visiting Buffalo State College (7-11-3) on Monday evening. Senior Travis Finkle (Youngstown, N.Y.) had one goal and three assists to help the Statesmen (4-16-1) snap a three-game losing streak. 
First-year Rocky Reeves' (Anchorage, Alaska) second of two goals in the third period increased the Bengals' lead to 5-3 with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation. Toomey's third power-play goal of the year and Pane's sixth overall tally of the season occurred within a span of 2 minutes, 25 seconds to deadlock the game at 5-5 at the 17:34 mark. 
Finkle's team-leading 12th goal of the season tied him with Scott Liming '83 at No. 2 on Hobart's career list with 70. Keith Levinthal '95 occupies the top spot with 72 career goals. 
Buffalo State junior goalie Harley Pottratz (Amherst, N.Y.) recorded 21 of his 46 saves after the second period, including several key saves at the conclusion of regulation. Statesmen junior Sam Weiner (Philadelphia, Pa.) turned away 30 of 35 Bengal shots on goal. 
The Statesmen return to action tomorrow night, when they host Oswego State University at 7:30 p.m.
