Box Score WORCESTER, Mass.--The lacrosse team scored the first seven goals of the game and cruised to its second Patriot League win of the season, 11-5, over host Holy Cross. Ten players notched at least a point, including four players with a team-high three points.
Sophomore Christian Gould opened the scoring three minutes into the contest with the first of his two first quarter goals. Tallies by senior Jared Bebee and sophomores Dave Spratlen and Scott Harvey, gave the Statesmen a 5-0 advantage at the end of the first frame. Senior Kevin DeWall and junior Jason Ouellet scored goals less than a minute apart to open the second quarter and give Hobart a 7-0 lead.
After the Crusaders (1-5, 0-1 Patriot League) finally cracked the scoring column at the 9:20 mark, John Bogosian netted his first collegiate goal to send Hobart (2-2, 2-1) into halftime with an 8-1 lead. Holy Cross struck first in the second half, but Ouellet and first-year Tim Booth responded for the Statesmen to build a 10-2 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.
The Crusaders outscored Hobart 3-1 down the stretch, but it proved too little, too late. First-year Kris Shore posted the lone tally for the Statesmen, the first of his collegiate career.
