Hobart controlled the play during a rain soaked first half, firing 14 shots at the RIT goal. The Statesmen were frustrated by missed chances and Tiger goalie, Aaron Landers, who made seven saves in the first period. RIT gained momentum in the second half, outshooting Hobart seven to six.
In the extra session, RIT's Trae Lower buried a pass from Ryan Riskosky to win it for the Tigers in the 104th minute. Sophomore goalie Cory Rosier (Liverpool/Liverpool, N.Y.) made seven saves, while Landers finished with nine. Next the Statesmen will host defending national champs St. Lawrence, on Sept. 15 at 4 p.m.
