GENEVA, N.Y.–The Hobart College soccer team notched its second win of the season, halting a four game slide with a 2-1 come-from-behind win over visiting Clarkson University. The Statesmen improve to 2-5-0, 1-1-0 in the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association, while the Golden Knights fall to 1-3-0, 0-2-0.
Clarkson opened the scoring just 7:33 into the match, on a goal by junior Chon Y. Kim (Utica, N.Y.), assisted by sophomore Brett Dorey (Rochester, N.Y.). Hobart answered with a goal of its own just five minutes later, when senior Jeff Harpham (Kent School/Avon, Conn.) set up senior Hunter Brown's (Brooks School/Pittsburgh, Pa.) second goal of the season.
Junior Jesse Martin (Cicero-North Syracuse/Liverpool, N.Y.) scored the game-winner in the 66th minute, driving a shot past the Knights' diving keeper, junior John Hall (Brooklyn, Conn.). Hall finished with seven saves.
Sophomore Cory Rosier (Liverpool/Liverpool, N.Y.) picked up the win for Hobart, making 10 saves, including eight in the first half.
The Statesmen return to action on Wed., Sept. 20, when they host Utica College at 4 p.m.
