WALLINGFORD, Conn.--The 15th-ranked Hobart squash team assured itself of the program's highest finish in the College Squash Association Championships with a 5-4 victory over No. 11 Amherst in the semifinals of the Hoehn Trophy. The Statesmen will face ninth-ranked Williams for the Hoehn Trophy, the second division (teams 9-16) of the five division event, at noon, on Feb. 29.
The Statesmen can finish no worse than 10th in the final CSA standings, besting the program's previous high-water mark by one spot.
The victory improved Hobart's record to 15-8, and marked the second time in as many matches that the Statesmen had bumped off a higher seed. Hobart defeated No. 10 Brown in the Hoehn quarterfinals on Friday.
