Hobart hockey ties Neumann

Box Score ASTON, Pa.—The 10th-ranked Hobart College ice hockey team tied eighth-ranked Neumann College 3-3 in an overtime ECAC West match-up on Friday night. The Statesmen now have a 4-2-2 overall record and a 1-2-1 league mark, while Neumann holds a 7-3-1 record and is unbeaten in league play at 2-0-4.

Junior Shawn Houde (Manchester, N.H.) scored Hobart’s first goal on a power play at 13:40 in the first period, assisted by seniors Mike Polsonetti (Lynn, Mass.) and Mike Manos (North Andover, Mass.). The Statesmen's second goal of the day came from sophomore Andrew Brennan (Milford, Mass.), who netted a power-play goal of his own 11:21 into the second stanza. Classmate Ryan Adler (Piscataway, N.J.) and senior Jonathan Swift (Andover, Mass.) both assisted on the goal.

Neumann held a 3-2 lead for the majority of the third period, until Hobart junior Ted Brzek (Duxbury, Mass.) tallied the game-tying score with less than four minutes to play in regulation, assisted by Swift and Brennan.

Sophomore goalkeeper Keith Longo (Hopedale, Mass.) made 31 stops for the Statesmen.

Hobart will be in action again on Dec. 2 when they travel to Lebanon Valley for a league game at 3 p.m.
