POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.—The Hobart tennis team finished sixth in the 2006 Liberty League Championship Tournament in the Walker Field House. The Statesmen, who entered the weekend seeded seventh, lost to No. 2 Vassar 4-1 in the quarterfinals, upset No. 6 Rensselaer 4-0 in the consolation semifinal, and lost to No. 5 Union 4-2 in the fifth place match.
Sophomore
Charlie Davis (Manlius-Pebble Hill School/Cazenovia, N.Y.) completed the season with a team-high 11 singles win (11-12), while first-year
James Micheroni (Sharon/Sharon, Mass.), senior
Adam Raffa (Concord-Carlisle/Concord, Mass.), and junior
Matt Silver (Weston/Weston, Conn.) tied for second on the squad with seven singles wins each.
Hobart finished the season with a 6-15 record.
