Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y.—The Hobart College hockey team opened its season with a win tonight at Buffalo State, 4-2, behind a 36-save effort from junior goaltender
Keith Longo (Hopedale, Mass.). The Statesmen hold a 1-0-0 record, while the Bengals drop to 1-2-0 on the season.
Hobart struck first, at 11:53 in the first period, as junior
Ryan Adler (Piscataway, N.J.) found sophomore
Gregory Alberti (Bernardsville, N.J.) for the first goal of the season.
In the second period, the Statesmen took advantage of two power play opportunities. First-year
Patrick Moriarty (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) found the back of the net for his first career goal, followed by sophomore
Bobby Cahill (Farmington Hills, Mich.) and junior
Bryant Harris (Plainfield, N.H.) connecting for the eventual game-winner.

Nick DeCroo (Sarver, Pa.) wrapped things up for the Statesmen in the third stanza, scoring an empty-net goal in the final minute of action.
The Bengals out shot the Statesmen 38-30, but could only get past Longo twice. Buffalo State’s tallies came in the second and third periods, from Nick Petriello and Jeff Mok.
Goalie Travis Moore picked up 26 saves for Buffalo State.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. in Geneva.
