Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College hockey team defeated Buffalo State for the second night in a row, this time 2-0 at The Cooler. The Statesmen improve to 2-0-0 overall, while the Bengals fall to 1-3-0. This is the first time in over a decade that Hobart has won its first two games of the season.
All of the scoring happened in the first period. Statesmen sophomore 
Drew Wadsworth (Arlington, Va.) scored unassisted just four minutes into the game, giving Hobart an early 1-0 lead. Less than five minutes later, the Statesmen struck again, this time on a power play. First-year Thomas Capalbo (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) tipped in a shot at 8:17. He was assisted by sophomore 
Dan Miller (Massena, N.Y.) and junior 
Michael Steiner (Shaker Heights, Ohio).
Hobart senior goalkeeper 
Dimitri Papaevagelou (Windham, N.H.) posted a strong showing in net, collecting 30 saves en route to his second career shutout and first win of the season. Sophomore Kyle Gunn-Taylor (West Seneca, N.Y.) stopped 28 shots for the Bengals. Both teams recorded 30 shots on goal.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Nov. 2, when they host Neumann for an ECAC West game at 7 p.m.
