Box Score ITHACA, N.Y.--The fifth-ranked William Smith College soccer team completed its regular season unbeaten with a 1-0 victory at No. 24 Ithaca. Senior Laura Burnett-Kurie (Oyster River/Durham, N.H.) scored the game-winner becoming just the fifth Heron to record 100 career points.

Burnett-Kurie netted her 42nd career goal in the 43rd minute off an assist from first-year Kate Giglio (Acton-Boxboro/Acton, Mass.). Burnett-Kurie is fourth on the Herons' career scoring list with 101 points.

Content to defend the 1-0 lead, William Smith was outshot 12-1 in the second half, but first-year Alexandra Chase (Bosque School/Albuquerque, N.M.) weathered the storm, making five of her seven saves after halftime.

Aimee Meacham made two saves for the Bombers (14-3-0).

The Herons improved to 15-0-1. They will host the Liberty League Tournament, Nov. 2-3. William Smith earned the top seed over Hamilton (13-0-1) based on the conference's fourth tie breaker, winning percentage against all teams with a .500 or better record.

William Smith has nine opponents that finished the season at or above .500, and compiled an 8-0-1 record against those opponents for a winning percentage of .944. Hamilton has eight opponents that finished at or above .500, and compiled a 7-0-1 record against those opponents for a winning percentage of 0.938.

The only game William Smith or Hamilton didn't win this season is their meeting on Sept. 29 in Geneva that ended in a 1-1 draw.

As the tournament's top seed, William Smith will host Skidmore in the first semifinal on Nov. 2. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Cozzens Field.
