Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The fifth-ranked William Smith College soccer team extended its 2007 unbeaten streak to 12 today, defeating Nazareth College 1-0 in a non-conference match. The Herons improve to 11-0-1 overall, while the Golden Flyers fall to 9-3-0 on the season.

Tracy Stankavage (Chittenango/Chittenango, N.Y.) recorded the tally for William Smith early in the game, off a corner kick from the foot of sophomore
Megan Stevens (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) in the 15th minute. The score was Stankavage’s second career goal. Her first came earlier this season, and both were game-winners.
First-year Heron goalkeeper
Alice Binns (Beaver Country Day/Boston, Mass.) held off all eight of Nazareth’s shots-on-goal, including two big saves in the final three minutes, while counterpart Hillary Simon registered four saves for the hosts. With the win, Binns now has four shutouts and sports a 9-0-1 record in net.
Overall, the Golden Flyers out shot William Smith 15-8, while the Herons held a 3-1 corner kick advantage.
The Herons will be in action in Rochester again on Oct. 13, when they travel to RIT (6-4-2) for a non-league contest at 3 p.m.
