Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.—The 12th-ranked Hobart College hockey team extended its winning streak to six, with a non-league victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology tonight, 6-0. The Statesmen now hold a 6-0-0 record, and have set a new program standard by opening the season with six straight wins. Hobart shattered the old record of three-straight, which was set in the 1979-80 season.

Six Statesmen netted goals in the victory over the Leopards tonight, starting in the first period with first-year Daniel Organ (Simi, Calif.). He tallied unassisted in the 17th minute for the eventual game-winner. Hobart carried a 1-0 lead into the first break.

First-year Patrick Moriarty (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y.) was responsible for the lone Statesmen goal in the second period. Sophomore Jordan Zitoun (Irving, Texas) set him up for the short-handed tally.

With a 2-0 lead to start the third period, the Leopards were still in reach. However, the Statesmen let loose in the final stanza, netting four goals. Sophomore Dan Miller (Massena, N.Y.) and first-year Matthew Wallace (Skaneateles, N.Y.) both scored, followed by sophomore Nick DeCroo (Sarver, Pa.) tallying on a power play, and senior captain Shawn Houde (Manchester, N.H.) lighting the lamp with another short-handed goal for Hobart.

Wallace, Houde, and Moriarty all finished with a goal and an assist, while junior Statesman Jason Merritt (Chapel Hill, N.C.) added two assists.

Senior goalkeeper Dimitri Papaevagelou (Windham, N.H.) collected his second shutout of the season, stopping 17 shots from Wentworth. Leopard goalie Justin Marriott recorded 49 saves.

Hobart will be back in action on Sat., Nov. 17, when it travels to take on defending national champion Oswego for a non-conference contest at 7 p.m.
