Box Score BROCKPORT, N.Y.—The ninth-ranked Hobart College hockey team extended its winning streak to eight with a 6-5 non-conference win over Brockport this afternoon, and in doing so gave Head Coach Mark Taylor his 100th career win. He now holds a 100-71-20 career record, while the Statesmen own an 8-0-0 overall mark. The Golden Eagles fell to 2-6-1 on the season.

Senior center Shawn Houde (Manchester, N.H.) and sophomore wing Nick DeCroo (Sarver, Pa.) each tallied a goal and two assists for the Statesmen, while sophomore center Bobby Cahill (Farmington, Mich.) added a goal and an assist.

Hobart scored the first four goals of the game. Houde tallied first, just 5 minutes, 52 seconds into the action, for the only goal of the first period. He was assisted by junior Ryan Adler (Piscataway, N.J.) and DeCroo.

The Statesmen came out firing in the second stanza. DeCroo and Houde set up first-year defenseman Kyle Whitaker (Fort Wayne, Ind.) for his first career tally at 2:54. Goals by first-year forward Matthew Wallace (Skaneateles, N.Y.) and Cahill followed, giving the visitors a 4-0 lead.

The Golden Eagles finally got one by junior Hobart goalie Dimitri Papaevagelou (Windham, N.H.) at the 12:44 mark of the second period. The goal came from Sean O’Malley, assisted by Chris Brown and Gentry Zollars.

Hobart started the third period with another goal, this time by senior forward Brian Cibelli (Liverpool, N.Y.). Cahill recorded the helper. The Statesmen went on to hold off a four-goal third period by the Golden Eagles to preserve the win.

DeCroo was credited with the game-winner with less than seven minutes left in regulation. Houde and junior Jason Merritt (Chapel Hill, N.C.) recorded the assists.

Papaevagelou collected 31 saves for his fourth win in net, while Brockport goaltender Derek Spence stopped 32 shots.

The Statesmen will travel to No. 2 Manhattanville for an ECAC West contest on Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
