Box Score GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College hockey defeated Lebanon Valley College 7-2 in an ECAC West game tonight at The Cooler. The Statesmen improve to 4-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the league, while the Flying Dutchmen drop to 0-4-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference action.
Sophomore
Aleksey Koval (Kiev, Ukraine) led Hobart with two goals and an assist, while classmate
Bobby Cahill (Farmington Hills, Mich.) added a goal and two assists. Sophomores
Gregory Alberti (Bernardsville, N.J.) and
Blake Bonham (Toronto, Ont.) tallied one of each, while senior Brian Cibelli (Liverpool, N.Y.) recorded two helpers. Junior
Ryan Adler (Piscataway, N.J.) and first-year Daniel Organ (Simi, Calif.) also got in on the scoring. Organ’s goal was the first of his collegiate career.
Koval’s first score of the game was the eventual game-winner. He scored it unassisted just 39 seconds into the second period, before adding an insurance goal in the third period.
The Statesmen out shot their visitors 51-28, while both teams converted two of eight power-play opportunities.
Junior Jared Frey (Etters, Pa.) totaled a goal and an assist for Lebanon Valley, while senior Rob Scales (Swarthmore, Pa.) also netted a goal for the visitors.

Dimitri Papaevagelou (Windham, N.H.) picked up his second win of the season, collecting 26 saves. Sophomore Aaron Miller (Toronto, Ont.) recorded 44 saves in net for LVC.
Hobart will be in action again on Nov. 10, when it travels to Western New England College for a non-conference game at 7:40 p.m.
